HAPPY RETIREMENT JOHN POWELL GOWER WEATHER MAN
John Powell MBE retired on April 17th 2009 after taking readings for the Met Office for more than 50 years from his Gower home. For the past 35 years he has also broadcast his daily weather report from the Gower Weather Centre on Swansea Sound and his voice will be sorely missed by listeners . This must surely make him one of the longest running voices on commercial radio in the UK? We wish him all the best in his retirement

WELL DONE SHARON! Congratulations to RCT Radio Project's Sharon Morris for being selected as a finalist in the 2008 Western Mail Welsh Woman of the Year Award. Although Sharon narrowly missed out on her award in the Woman in the Community category she was pipped at the post by the winner of the overall title.
